Reclaiming Our Neighborhood
|
We partnered with the City of Dallas Community Prosecution team and launched a collaborative effort to address ongoing nuisance issues, develop action plans, and monitor implementation. This group includes residents, community ministry partners, and broad City of Dallas participation. Representatives from the Dallas Police Department, Code Enforcement, Nuisance Abatement and several other departments are all working together to improve the safety, health and well-being of our neighborhood. Using a unique format, the group meets monthly outdoors on one of the vacant lots with the highest reported level of crime incidents. Community transformation requires vision, teamwork and persistence. We are in this together!

Our return to senior services is in full swing! With the help of our partners at Top Ladies of Distinction, Top Teens of America and St. Philip’s Parent School Association, we hosted the Annual Senior Soirée on November 5, 2022. It was a joyous occasion of dancing, laughter and fellowship with entertainment provided by Soul Inspirational Line Dance Company. Attendees shared “It was perfect! Thank you for remembering seniors. Great event!” and “New friends, food, and fun. It was a fantastic event!” We are so grateful to be able to come back and be better together.
Entrepreneurship Conference
|
The Seventh Grade Entrepreneurship class participated in the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, at Ellis Fieldhouse, along with several schools across the metroplex. They attended four workshops (The Art of the Pitch, Social media & Your Business, Entrepreneurship, and The Lean Canvas) that built on what the scholars have been learning in class. Our students networked with students from different schools further enhancing their collaboration skills and comfortability meeting new people.
