St. Pius X / St. Leo School Newsletter December 16, 2022
Dear SPSL Families,

On behalf of the St. Pius X / St. Leo School faculty and staff, we pray that all of our families have a blessed Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year. We hope that our incredible SPSL families continue to have a peaceful Advent season and we are so grateful for your love, care and support for the SPSL community. We are so fortunate for our amazing partnerships between our teachers and staff. It is one of the biggest joys in our lives to play such an important part in educating your amazing children.

We thank all of our families for your compassion you have shown us in this school year and we hope that you have received the same from your friends at SPSL. Thank you also for your continued prayers for all of your teachers and staff and please know that you are in our prayers as well. Thank you for giving us the incredible gift of educating your children. Please have a very, very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We appreciate all of you and we look forward to seeing you back at school in 2023!

Christmas and New Year Blessings,

FUNDRAISER RECAP

We are excited to report that the SPSL 2022 Fundraiser, Planting Seeds of Success, raised over $185,000 for SPSL School with nearly 350 attendees! SPSL surpassed our attendance goal and raised $30,000 more than last year! We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our parents, alumni, donors, and friends. Of the total funds raised, approximately $38,000 is designated money for specific areas (e.g. Teacher Wish List, GIVE, and the tuition drawing). The remaining $147,000 will be used according to the following plan established by the School Board:
  • 32% for Capital Improvements
  • 30% for the School Operating Budget
  • 20% for Technology and Educational Resources
  • 13% for Teacher Education and Classroom Stipends
  • 5% for St. Pius X / St. Leo Educational Endowment Trust Fund
We are grateful for the hard work, creativity, and leadership of our Fundraiser Chairs Mike and Becky App, Kevin and Heidi Berthelsen, and Andrew and Colette Martin as well as all our Committee Chairs and volunteers. Thank you!

SPSL School is excited to announce that we already have a Chair for our 2023 Fundraiser! Jessica Fisher will be one of the leaders for the Fundraiser next year! Jessica is a 2004 graduate of our school, and she and her husband Andrew have four current SPSL Panthers: Colbie (3rd), Maddie (2nd), Beckham (K), and Easton (PK). There are many ways to get involved and help with this fun, community-building event. If you are interested in helping, please contact michaela.smith@spsl.net.
SPSL IS NOW HIRING!
Extended Care Staff: SPSL school is hiring extended care staff for the 2022-2023 school year.
