Empowering Leaders Centered on Christ

Fr. Pat & the SPX staff are launching a 5 session leadership series to a limited number of parishioners from SPX, including ministry leaders, organization leaders, and leaders in the secular world and in the home. This series is first and foremost designed to enrich and deepen your own faith, to reveal your own sense of discerning your unique purpose in life, and to discover the mission Christ entrusted to the Church and how that defines your life as a Catholic.

Sessions are 3.5 hours once a month and led by Fr. Pat, Dr. Tom Neal, Professor of Theology at Notre Dame Seminary, and Theresa Truxillo. Please see the SPX Parish website for more details and the series schedule.

If you are eager to dive deeper into your faith and interested in being considered for this high-quality series, please send an email to Theresa Truxillo for Fr. Pat’s consideration no later than August 16, 2022.

If you, or anyone you know, is interested in becoming Catholic or learning more about the Catholic faith, call the Parish Office for information about our RCIA program. This is a months-long program of weekly sessions beginning in the Fall and ending with entry into the Church at the Easter Vigil. Please call 504-282-3332 to inquire.

THE ADVENTURES OF FLAT FATHER PAT

#FlatFrPat had a great time in Pensacola with the Gutierrez, Landry, Simone, Domniguez, Barrios, Richardson, Gremillion and Cordes families.

The Kraft family brought #FlatFrPat to Grand Lake, CO where they found St. Anne Catholic Church.

SPRINGS IN THE DESERT RETREAT

If you struggle with infertility, you may feel like youare in a lonely, desert place. But you are not alone!

The Archdiocese of New Orleans and Springs in the Desert are partnering to offer a one-day retreat for women on Saturday, August 27 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Wherever you are on the path of infertility, we invite you to join us for reflections on different aspects of the infertility experience, to receive encouragement and some practical suggestions for strengthening your relationship with God and your spouse, and to pray and share community with others on this same path.

ADORATION CHAPEL

The St. Pius X Blessed Seelos Adoration Chapel needs committed adorers. If you are having a hard time making prayer a priority, why don’t you try committing to a weekly appointment with God by signing up for Eucharistic Adoration? Most of our hours have one person signed up already and need a partner. Other hours are in urgent need of a committed adorer because no one is currently assigned.
