Memory Verse:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,

and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,

for I am gentle and humble in heart,

and you will find rest for your souls.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

-Matthew 11:28-30

Ways to continue to memorize this scripture together:

  1. Make a family poster, or write it down in various places around your house.
  2. Record your family saying it together or take turns each saying a line or words, post on South Rock Kids Facebook or email it to [email protected]

I'd love to see how your family is in the Word together!!!

ACTIVITY Ideas: (scroll down for some pages you can print too!)

BURDEN BOX: Children can be given a box to wrap with paper and decorate with the Bible verse and the words BURDEN BOX in bright letters. Cut a slit in the box and use small cards to write some examples of burdens on the cards and place them inside the box! PRAY together to give all of our burdens to Jesus just like the scripture reminds us!

PARACHUTE BURDENS: Use a parachute or large bedsheet, have the children spread out around the parachute and TOSS a BURDEN BALLOON (or any light weight ball that has BURDENS written on it in big letters) high into the air while saying "TAKE MY BURDEN." See if you can toss that BURDEN high into the air and off of the parachute.

SEARCH FOR A SNACK: The children might enjoy hunting for some special snacks today as they search for a snack for each letter of BURDEN... B could be a snack in a balloon or bubblegum; U could be a snack UNDER the table, R could be a RED snack such as a strawberry or an apple, D could be a life saver on a DIME or something more simple would be a "dum dum sucker", E could be snacks that are EVERYWHERE around the room and N could be bag of nuts, or a Nutter Butter cookie.

FROG HOPPING:

Run FROG HOPPING (relays back and forth wherever space allows and end with the F.R.O.G (Fully Rely on God) craft printable (or make your own) with explanation below!

Notice the activity pages below that you can print and use
