Tim Wilson of the public works department was selected as Santa Rosa County's Employee of the Quarter for summer 2018. Wilson joined the road and bridge team in June 2016 as an equipment operator I. He quickly proved his reliability, integrity, and hard work ethics; and was promoted to equipment operator II in July 2017.
Wilson operates a skid steer and supervises the work of up to ten inmates. He is well-respected by all, exceedingly humble and sets a high standard that his co-workers appreciate. Outside work, Wilson
is a firefighter and first responder, which he recently put to good use on the job. While working with an inmate squad, the Department of Corrections officer discovered a non-responsive and convulsive inmate in the back of their van. Recognizing the situation, Wilson rendered first aid and relayed the inmate's vital signs to 9-1-1 dispatchers through the officer. He revived the inmate and stayed by his side until additional medical attention could be provided. The officer expressed his extreme gratitude for Wison's training and his calm professional approach.
Santa Rosa County is fortunate to have Tim Wilson on staff. His positive attitude and good work ethic is an encouragement and motivation to all county employees.
