New Tree Risk Assessment Application from MSU Forestry Extension
The app helps tree workers identify and evaluate hazardous tree conditions. The app has two tools: (1) Quick assessment for use in non-detailed assessments such as an immediate post-storm inventory and (2) Detailed assessment for more elaborate basic (Level II) risk assessments or advanced risk assessments. learn more.

MSU Extension Marketing Tests Social Media Against Snail Mail
MSU Forestry Extension recently concluded a series of Farm Service Agency-sponsored 100-participant workshops in which they tested professionally produced social media marketing against postal mail marketing. Social media drew a significant majority of respondents in comparison to the mailing and social media outreach resulted in more new clients, younger clients, and faster course registration. MSU will present detailed results at future professional meetings.
