Structuring Your I&RS Team for a Successful Year · Hybrid Delivery

July 16, 2026 · 9 am to 12 pm

An I&RS team provides the school with an institutionalized mechanism and comprehensive strategy for enabling staff and families or caregivers to collaborate systematically over time. This collaboration requires careful planning and maintenance to become an integral and valued part of the educational system. A strong I&RS team is necessary for an I&RS system to work effectively in a school.

This session will define the characteristics of an effective team while providing administrators with recommendations for team composition. Team member roles and responsibilities will be clarified. In addition, this session will identify the support needed for I&RS team operations from the board of education, central office administrators, building administrators, and school staff. Participants will learn the best practices for collaborative decision-making. The relationship of I&RS teams to other building-based groups will be explored. Finally, participants will explore appropriate models for I&RS functions.

School Law Boot Camp for School Administrators· Hybrid Delivery

July 28 & July 29, 2026 · 9 am to 3 pm

Today's school leaders work in a dynamic, fast-paced school law environment, and administrators are challenged to keep up with the changes. Administrators will review legal standards on HIB, Student Rights, Employer and Employee Rights, and Special Education.

Day One: HIB Including Social Media and Student Rights and First Amendment Rights

The HIB Including Social Media module will focus on the new HIB regulations and review relevant school law cases. The module will focus on student rights and responsibilities, including constitutional rights such as freedom of speech, disciplinary actions, social media, 24/7 rule, student athletic contracts, and transgender rights. In this module we will also review Special Education with a concentration on the district's roles and responsibilities, 504 Plans, IEP Plans, home-instruction and graduation.

Day Two: New Legal Considerations in K-12 Schools and Employee Rights Refresher for School Administrators

The New Legal Considerations in K-12 module will discuss laws and regulations regarding school closure, virtual instruction, and what powers/tools districts have to address emergency situations. The Employer and Employee Rights module will focus on employer and employee rights and responsibilities, including constitutional rights such as freedom of speech, disciplinary actions, grievances, tenure charges, non-renewals, and reductions in force. This interactive workshop will review the tenure charge process, concentrating on the district's roles and responsibilities, as well as review the legal standards and discuss proper documentation.

Although we encourage participants to attend both days of School Law Boot Camp, participants can register for a single day if it best fits the needs of their district.

Making the Mentoring Process More Meaningful · Hybrid Delivery

August 6, 2026 · 9 am to 12 pm

In this workshop, mentors will explore the mentoring process and understand the requirements for working with novice teachers. Practical strategies, skills, information, and resources will be discussed that will help them to successfully mentor novice teachers and positively impact their professional growth. Through role playing, communication skills, and knowledge of adult learning principles, mentor teachers will be provided with resources that will not only help them to become effective mentors and role models, but will also expand their own professional expertise.

Making the Mentoring Process More Meaningful workshop

Danielson Refresher for Experienced Administrators · Online Program

August 18, 2026 · 9 am to 11 am

This workshop will focus on enhancing use of and addressing common challenges using the Danielson framework. Topics include determining a score when evidence falls between levels, conducting post-observation conferences, building inter-rater reliability, and working with your faculty leadership teams (e.g. DEAC, ScIP). Additionally, utilizing the framework for instructional improvement will be explored.

Danielson Refresher for Experienced Administrators workshop

Danielson for New Administrators · Online Program

August 19, 2026 · 9 am to 12 pm

This workshop will focus on developing a working knowledge of the Danielson Framework with exploration of the four domains and their components. Practice with collecting ample evidence, scoring the observation, and conducting the post-observation conference will be provided.

The Pinelands Summer Short Course at Stockton University Kramer Hall in Hammonton, NJ is an annual event featuring a variety of presentations and field trips that explore the unique history, ecology, and culture of the New Jersey Pinelands.

Co-sponsored by the Pinelands Commission and the Southern Regional Institute and Educational Technology Training Center (SRI&ETTC) at Stockton University, the event provides an excellent opportunity for participants to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Pinelands, with professional development credits available for New Jersey teachers.

Date: Friday, July 17th, 2026

Time: 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., please note some field trips run until 3 p.m.
