Mental Health Awareness and Anti-Stigma Campaign

Project Stockbridge was developed through a partnership between SRSLY Stockbridge and Chelsea Hospital's Mental Health Awareness and Training (MHAT) program. In early 2022, these groups met to discuss mental health needs within Stockbridge schools and the broader community. During these initial conversations, senior high students identified three goals for the campaign:

  • Increase knowledge and awareness of available resources.
  • Strengthen understanding of mental health language and how to talk about mental health with others.
  • Build respect and understanding among individuals.

Campaign highlights since launching in spring 2022:

  • Distributed student-designed hoodies to all junior/senior high students, and warm-up shirts to student-athletes and coaches with positive mental health messages and resources.
  • MHAT Program Coordinator Sarah Wilczynski led a Youth Mental Health First Aid training with school staff and provided staff with t-shirts.
  • Sarah collaborated with the district to develop a printed community resource guide as well as a student guide. Email us to request free copies.
  • Handed out Holiday Survival Kits and hot chocolate to junior/senior students.
  • Designed and printed posters for the Heritage School gym (photos below).

The MHAT program has also provided free trainings to over 1,000 community members, including Youth Mental Health First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer).
