Florida Forward and A Vision For Tomorrow

DON'T MISS THIS EVENT!
Wednesday, April 15, 2026
Jay Collins, Florida’s Lieutenant Governor and decorated Green Beret, is running for governor in 2026, emphasizing leadership, veterans’ support, and conservative policies.
Jay is a Republican politician and retired U.S. Army Special Forces veteran. He served over 23 years in the Army, including deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, and South America, and continued active service for five years after losing a leg in combat. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit, Soldier's Medal, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart.
Jay moved to Florida in 2018 and was elected to the Florida Senate in 2022, representing parts of Hillsborough County. He sponsored legislation on permitless carry of firearms, child labor laws, and public safety initiatives, and secured over $120 million in funding for regional development, veterans, and education. In August 2025, he was appointed the 21st Lieutenant Governor of Florida by Governor Ron DeSantis.
Collins announced his candidacy for governor in January 2026, positioning himself as a successor to DeSantis and emphasizing his readiness to lead from "day one" due to his military and executive experience. He faces a crowded Republican primary, including Congressman Byron Donalds (endorsed by Donald Trump), former House Speaker Paul Renner, Bobby Williams, Charles Burkett and investor James Fishback, as well as Democratic contenders like Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and former Congressman David Jolly.

The Chaplain's Corner
by Scarlett Griffin, Chaplain
As we welcome the joys of spring, we must also be aware of the gathering storm of socialism growing throughout our nation. As a Christian who believes in the basic goodness of man, I am not comfortable focusing on negative ideas. However, as we watch the news, we must be aware of the rising division in our beloved country. As Republicans and conservatives, we must be cognizant of the evil forces that continue to spread. As many of us believe, this is a spiritual battle of good vs. evil. The rise of antisemitism, violent protests in the streets and increasing deadly attacks on innocent Americans by illegal criminals continue to grow. How do we answer this growing evil? We must defeat liberal socialism in the 2026 elections.
If the Democrats win either side of Congress, they will block President Trump's goals of restoring America. This gathering storm must be destroyed. Pray for our country and begin to decide what you can do to assure the Republicans win and win decisively!
Scarlett Griffin
