The Chaplain's Corner
by Scarlett Griffin, Chaplain
Romans 13:1
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Dearest Lord and Father, We bow our heads in gratitude for Your guidance in leading our Founding Fathers in establishing America as one nation under God. Through peace times and times of wars, Your wisdom and power have carried us forward as a tower of strength among all nations. Lord, please bless President Trump and the leaders he has chosen so that America may continue to be a nation blessed by God. We lay our prayers at the foot of Your throne as we praise you as our protector and redeemer. In Your name we pray,
Amen

Veteran's Affairs Committee
Last September our club had the privilege to listen to an Eagle Scout presentation by William Watts. Will wished for two Medal of Honor veterans from Seminole County (there are only 30 overall) to be honored by placing bronze markers to be mounted at the Heroes Memorial to recognize their ultimate sacrifice. After a year of hard work, this project was brought to fruition with an outstanding unveiling ceremony at the Seminole County Courthouse on Saturday, March 26, 2025, with the families and friends of both Sergeant First Class Alwyn Cashe and Staff Sergeant Robert Miller in attendance. Will is an outstanding young man and is the grandson of Suburban's Assistant Treasurer, Hazel Hissam and her husband Dick Hissam. Well done Will. We are proud to call you one of our own.
