The June 11th tour of the Kimmel Center was a special treat attended by some enthusiastic SSCA'ers! Many thanks to Kay Rinko for arranging this tour and to Nancy Daniel for organizing the logistics.

Friday Flix of the Month at Swarthmore Presbyterian will conclude the year on Friday, June 27th with "The Last of the Blonde Bombshells" featuring the incomparable Judi Dench with a brilliant supporting cast including Olympia Dukakis. 

Dame Judi plays the part of Elizabeth, a recent widow, adjusting to the new normal of widowhood, when she reconnects with her musical past. During World War II, she was a gifted saxophonist in an all female band that played for the troops. She then sets out to reunite the members of the band so they can play again for a special event. The movie moves back and forth between her current life and the adventures of the band during the war in England. 

Come join us at 7:00 pm for an evening of humor, great music, and superb acting in this lovely memoir of a movie. As always, free admission and food at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church in "the study."

STC is thrilled to be partnering with the Swarthmore Co-Op to install a new mural along Lincoln Way! On Saturday, June 28 at 1:00 pm, local artists Beth Clevenstine and Paul Santoleri will give a presentation on their inspiration and process to create and install the mural. Afterwards there will be two free workshop sessions for you to choose from to create a piece that will be included in the mural!

*Space is limited to 25 participants per workshop timeslot, pre-registration is required though it is free of cost. Please register HERE for which timeslot you will be attending. The preceding artist talk is open to all.

Are you a senior who would like more opportunities to stay connected with others while enjoying some fun activities?

The Park Avenue Community Center is offering its third annual Summer Senior Program, designed to keep seniors active and engaged with a weekly opportunity to take part in an interesting workshop, followed by lunch and socializing – and it’s all free!

This eight-week program kicks off on June 18 with an aromatherapy workshop, followed by a nutritious lunch. The sessions run every Wednesday through August 13, with the exception of July 2, when there is no workshop.
