| | Hello, South San Francisco Community! | | |
Happy National Parks and Recreation Month! I’m Angela Duldulao, and I’ve had the privilege of serving as Deputy Director of the City of South San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department since 2022. Before that, I served as the Department’s Management Analyst II from 2015 to 2018 and Recreation Division Program Manager from 2018 to 2022. While my career has spanned more than 20 years and included teaching abroad, nonprofit fundraising, and State-level administration, I feel incredibly fortunate that my journey brought me back to South San Francisco.
As a long-time South City resident, my passion for local government and public service really began after participating in the City’s first Citizens Academy in 2006. That experience opened my eyes to the impact local government can have on people’s everyday lives, and I knew I wanted to be part of that work.
Today, I’m proud to help lead a department that creates opportunities for people to connect, stay active, and build community. I work alongside an amazing team to provide parks, recreation programs, events, and public spaces that enhance the quality of life for residents of all ages. Parks and Recreation Month is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s a chance to celebrate the many ways these spaces and programs bring people together, support health and well-being, and create lasting memories.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Community and Regional Development from the University of California, Davis, and giving back to the community is something that extends beyond my work. It’s truly a family affair - my husband, our two children, and I can often be found volunteering together at community events throughout South San Francisco.

About the City’s Parks and Recreation Department
The Parks and Recreation Department is organized by program area, with managers, supervisors, coordinators, and specialists leading services across four divisions: Administration, Facilities, Parks, and Recreation. Together, these teams manage department operations, maintain City facilities and parks, and provide recreation and enrichment programs that support wellness, learning, and quality of life for our community.
The Department also partners with affiliated organizations that operate in City facilities and park locations, such as youth baseball and soccer leagues. Input and guidance are provided by the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Cultural Arts Commission, with additional support from volunteer and advisory groups. Get Support from San Mateo County’s Mobile Clinic
San Mateo County’s Mobile Clinic delivers client-centered medical care to adults 18 and older who are uninsured or underinsured, including those with MediCal, Medicare, or ACE who do not have an established primary care provider. By traveling to sites throughout the county, the Mobile Clinic improves access to essential health services and supports individuals with both urgent and chronic medical needs. In addition to urgent care, primary care, health screenings, limited vaccinations, physicals, and needle exchange, the team also helps clients navigate and connect to mental health services and specialty care when needed. While some services may include a fee if no insurance is available, all visits are first-come, first-served, and clinic sites may reach capacity early. Children under 18 can only be seen for tuberculosis testing when staying in a county shelter. Learn more about the clinic.
