Hello SSHS Families!
Halloween is only one week away! It's time to pick out your pumpkins and get creative as our annual SSHS Pumpkin Carving Contest is back for 2022! Please see below for all necessary information.
- All pumpkins must be carved at home. Please encourage your children to express their creativity, and supervise safe carving.
- All pumpkins must be dropped off the morning of Monday, October 31st between 8 and 8:30am on the green steps of the playground. A PA member will be there to assist you.
- Only battery operated candles should be used to illuminate the pumpkin carvings.
- The carved pumpkins must be able to stand without any support or back drop needed.
- Inappropriate pumpkins will be disqualified, and will not be displayed.
- We encourage carved pumpkins, but understand younger children may want to enter painted or otherwise decorated pumpkins.
- All entries must be labeled with the entrant's name and class on the back of the pumpkin.
- The judges will announce the winners by the end of day on Monday, October 31st!
Prizes
There will be 2 prize categories:
- Lower school (Pre-K 3 to Grade 2)
- Upper school (Grade 3 - Grade 8)
Within each category: 1st prize $50, 2nd prize $25 and 3rd prize $10
