WOW. Our first resource fair on September 8th was a huge success! Thank you so much to everyone who participated. We LOVED putting a spotlight on more than 30 wonderful vendors who specialize in serving adults and teens with disabilities. Thank you so much to the 300+ people who came out on a hot Sunday afternoon for this! We're looking forward to seeing you all again next year!

For many of our clients and many others around the state on SSI, there's good news to share!

As of September 30, 2024, the federal government's definition of "In Kind Services and Maintenance" has changed, which means that people on SSI will no longer be penalized if someone else (like a parent or their Special Needs Trust) helps pay for their food.

You can read more specifics about this policy change here, but we're thrilled about this small change that will make a big difference for some of our clients.

This summer, we were lucky to have Bayley Sandler as our Marketing & Outreach Intern! Among many other things, Bayley played a big role in getting our Resource Fair off the ground. Her interest in writing overlapped perfectly with her with her work in marketing and outreach as they are both powerful vehicles for fostering understanding across communities.

Bayley Sandler is back at Brandeis University, where she is a sophomore double majoring in American Studies and Near Eastern Judaic Studies with a minor in Film. Originally from Los Angeles, she graduated from Shalhevet High School in 2022 and spent her gap year in Jerusalem with the Shalom Hartman Institute. With her passion for Tikkun Olam and her commitment to hard work, we consider ourselves very fortunate that Bayley chose to spend her summer sharing her skills and enthusiasm with us!
