The Illinois Office of Broadband and the Illinois Broadband Lab are hosting a series of virtual and in-person listening sessions and launching a statewide survey to collect input for the Connect Illinois Broadband and Digital Equity Planning Initiatives.

By completing the survey, you can help accelerate work to bring affordable access to high-speed internet to all Illinoisans. The survey results will be used to ensure that upcoming historic federal funding is used to address the state’s most urgent barriers and needs. Learn more.

South Suburban Landbank RFQ: Real Estate Services
The South Suburban Land Bank and Development Authority (SSLBDA) is excited to share a new Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Real Estate Services. There will be an informational session on May 12 at 10:00am. The RFQ will close on June 2.

SSLBDA seeking multiple locally-based Illinois licensed real estate brokers to assist in the marketing and sale of abandoned and distressed properties in 26+ municipalities in Cook and Will County. Learn more.
Upcoming Metropolitan Water Reclamation Distr Events
• On May 9 at 2:00pm MWRD will host a live virtual tour of the Chicago region's water infrastructure and history. Learn more and register here.

• On May 13 and May 20 the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District will host an open house to celebrate Infrastructure Week.

SPC Vendor Showcase Updates

The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) is excited to announce that the SPC Vendor Showcase will be held on Wednesday, July 26 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Oakton College, 1600 E. Golf Road in Des Plaines. This is a free event for attendees and thanks to our partners at Sourcewell, anyone can attend their presentation and earn one contact hour toward Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with The Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP).

Please note that the Vendor Showcase will now be held in adjoining Rooms 1608 and 1610 with parking available in Lot C. The SPC Vendor Showcase schedule has also been updated as follows:

SPC Vendor Showcase: 10:00am-12:00pm and vehicle demonstrations in Parking Lot C Sourcewell Presentation and Box Lunch: 12:00pm – 1:00 pm

The SPC Vendor Showcase presents a unique opportunity for local government officials from the SPC’s participating councils of government and others to meet one-on-one with SPC vendors at one time. Northwest Municipal Conference (NWMC), DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference (DMMC), South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association (SSMMA), and Will County Governmental League (WCGL) members and staff will be onsite to learn about the products, services, and solutions offered by the SPC to help you better serve your communities. Vendors will have individual display areas where you can discuss all of your joint purchasing needs.
