ComEd Addresses Municipal Leaders' Questions on Storm Response and Reliability

At its recent Board meeting, the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association (SSMMA) welcomed ComEd representatives for a discussion with municipal leaders on electric reliability, storm response, and emergency preparedness. As Southland leaders continue to address the impacts of recent severe storms, the meeting provided mayors and managers an opportunity to raise local and regional concerns and ask questions about ComEd's responsiveness and coordination with municipalities.

During the meeting, ComEd presented its “Powering Through the Storm” disaster response protocols, covering the 2026 storm season and its impacts, the company's restoration efforts, reliability performance, and ongoing resilience investments. Officials also provided an overview of ComEd's restoration process and emergency preparedness measures, offering municipal leaders insight into how the utility coordinates response efforts during severe weather events. State legislators in attendance included State Senator Patrick Joyce, State Senator Napoleon Harris III, State Representative Will Davis, and State Representative Anthony DeLuca, who joined the discussion and engaged ComEd officials directly on issues affecting Southland communities. SSMMA would like to thank the numerous elected officials for their active participation during the meeting.
