Cows & Classics 2016
Come and be seen with the herd; this music will mooooove you

The Stratford Symphony Orchestra presents its summer celebration of all things musical on Sunday afternoon, June 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the David and Annamarie Murray dairy farm near Mitchell.

Cows & Classics 2016 will feature an eclectic collection of performers, including:

Chloe Weir, Ontario Provincial Open Musical Theatre Gold Medalist

The Sills Boys (Isaiah, Jacob, Matteo), part of a very musical family who live in Seaforth. Their soprano voices "could very well bring tears to your eyes when they sing 'You Raise Me Up,' " says David Murray.

Reid Spencer, singer and voice teacher, whose friendship with Mr. Murray goes back to their days as music students at Laurier University.

The Hogtown Brass Quintet, a Toronto-based chamber ensemble whose priority "is to bring brass chamber music to new audiences and to reinvigorate the classic brass ensemble." One of its founding members is trumpet player Tristan Tye, son of SSO volunteers Judy and Alan Tye.
Geisha

Always a hit performer, Geisha, the Murrays' farm dog, will provide a vocal accompaniment to David Murray's piano playing. (See photo from a past performance, courtesy of John Lederman.)

Tour Annamarie Murray's magical perennial gardens, greet the curious but convivial herd of dairy cows, and enjoy a delectable assortment of refreshments.

Tickets to this annual SSO fundraiser ($20 adults, $10 students, free to children 12 and under) are available at the event, as well as on the SSO website ("Buy Tickets") and at Blowes Stationery and Fanfare Books in Stratford and Lyric Flowers in St. Marys. The event begins at 1:30 p.m.

To reach the Murray farm from Stratford, drive west on Highway 8 toward Mitchell. Turn left on Road 155 and proceed to 3844.

Please bring a chair for each member of your party.
