Community Steps Up to Make Our Dogs' Days!
Since Sacramento Shelter Pets Alive (SSPA) introduced the Dog Day Out Program at Bradshaw Animal Shelter on Sept. 8, we have had 136 appointments completed by community members wanting to make a shelter dog's day!

That's an incredible number over 30 days! (The program runs Sundays-Fridays.)

As you can see in these photos, a day out of the shelter makes every bit of difference for our dogs - and brings great joy to volunteers as well!

"We are thrilled to see our amazing community embrace this new program," said Delyse Gannaway, SSPA's founder. "A break from shelter life is so critical to our dogs' well-being, and the photos and descriptions volunteers send us are making a huge impact in helping dogs find homes!"

We can't thank our wonderful community enough for stepping up to bring happiness to our community's pups who are most in need!

Won't You Take Me Home?
Camaro is one incredible pup who's stressed out in the shelter and hoping to go home soon!

He's been a favorite for Dog Day Out as he's a total rock star! He rides great in the car, has been fabulous out on the trails, has loved everyone he meets, and is super affectionate!

He is heartworm positive, but we provide all medical for any foster family who takes him in!

Jaxon, formerly Brutus, is the apple of his family's eye!

He was adopted nearly three years ago from SSPA, and his family did a quarantine art project of "the most beloved member of the family"!

One of his family members says, "He is the most amazing dog I've ever had the privilege of knowing."

Thank you so much for sharing! Nothing brings the SSPA team more joy than seeing our dogs as beloved family members!
