Since Sacramento Shelter Pets Alive (SSPA) introduced the Dog Day Out Program at Bradshaw Animal Shelter on Sept. 8, we have had 136 appointments completed by community members wanting to make a shelter dog's day!
That's an incredible number over 30 days! (The program runs Sundays-Fridays.)
As you can see in these photos, a day out of the shelter makes every bit of difference for our dogs - and brings great joy to volunteers as well!
"We are thrilled to see our amazing community embrace this new program," said Delyse Gannaway, SSPA's founder. "A break from shelter life is so critical to our dogs' well-being, and the photos and descriptions volunteers send us are making a huge impact in helping dogs find homes!"
