October 28, 2025

Many people face unexpected hardships such as job loss or medical bills and rely on food pantries to meet their basic needs. With the government shutdown and elimination of S.N.A.P. benefits, our local food pantry has been especially busy. Sparrow’s Nest has already assisted 82 new families in October alone. As we approach the end of the year, when needs typically increase, we are joining hands to support our friends at Sparrow’s Nest—knowing that in the months ahead, there will be more phone calls, longer lines, and greater need.

There’s also an unseen side of Sparrow’s Nest: they provide financial assistance for individuals struggling to pay utility or medical bills. At the start of each month, the lines are long, and the available funds are often depleted within two business days.

Please consider bringing food and hygiene items to the church and our Fall Festival on Wednesday. Your generosity this week—and our partnership together—strengthens our community, fosters compassion, and helps create a safety net for those in need.

The need has never been greater, and FaithWorks depends on your support now more than ever. Your gift makes a real difference—feeding families, keeping the lights on, and offering hope to those in crisis.

Give today at faithworksministry.org or mail your gift to:

New Library Display

A PLACE AT THE TABLE

Presbyterian Life: What We Believe

In conjunction with welcoming new members, the Library Team has created a new display on the carousel just inside the doors of the Library. We’ve chosen fifty titles from our church’s healthy collection of Presbyterian documents. Whether you are a new Presbyterian or one who started at birth, you will find something interesting about our faith. Find out the history of John Calvin and John Knox as the story of the Reformation and the beginning of Presbyterianism unfolds. Check out the newest Book of Order or books about Southern Presbyterians. If you take one, leave the card with your name in the box on top of the carousel.
