Dear SSSG families,
This week I had a package to mail to my friend in C alifornia. I printed out the customs form, calculated the stamps needed and then walked over to the nearest postbox. Yes, you read correctly - actual walking to put an actual letter in an actual postbox.
On my way through the neighbourhood I was surprised to see that there was a game in play. Kids have painted rocks with all sorts of creative faces and messages and left them tucked away for people to find as they walk.
You can take pictures and post them as you find them. Move them - as long as you wash your hands before and after - count them or make some yourself and add them to the game. Or you can just admire the creativity involved.
I had no idea all this was going on. And it added an extra level of enjoyment to my walk. But it also connected me to all the others in the neigbourhood whom I have never met. The message came through very clearly that we are all in this together. Whether we know each other or not. And that our actions - even little ones -- have an impact on those we may never see.
That message is easily remembered when it comes to spreading negative consequences. But it works both ways. We can spread the positive too. We may never see the smile we put on someone's face. But it's still worth the effort!

I know that we told you all to expect the registration information this week. But to paraphrase Robbie Burns, even the best laid schemes oft go awry.
So apologies, but we have had a minor delay in sending out the link to the new form. Not to worry, it will be to you soon and will include a new payment option for monthly pre-authorized debits.
Please wait for the new link before registering so that your information gets included correctly.
Thank you for your patience!
Grocery cards delivered!
All the grocery cards for April, May and June have been delivered to your homes. If you were expecting cards and did not receive them, please let me know!
We need your input on the Group Play-in
Group sessions are important and we didn't want our students to miss out just because we can't be in the same room together. So we started a virtual group play-in session. The first one was held April 25 and generally received positive feedback from both students and parents.

We have the next one scheduled for May 2 and we want to work out any kinks and quirks before then. This is a learning experience for all of us, so we are relying on your feedback, input and suggestions. Let us know what worked, what didn't work and pass on your ideas to make it work better. Don't be shy! We need to hear from you.

Teen Mentoring moves to May 24
The Teen Mentoring ("Practice Buddy") course originally scheduled for May 3 will now occur on Sun, May 24, 1pm-5:30pm. More information about this will be available in the next few weeks. Please let Elayne Ras know (  if you are interested in taking the course on that day.
