Hello Suzuki families,

Bravo! Awesome Spring Concert Everyone!
Thank you to all our students for a beautiful concert last Sunday! Your performances were refined, artistic and uplifting! Violins even achieve their goal of making Daphne cry during Humoresque! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this concert possible. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you to the teachers and to Ken Gee for preparing everyone and leading in such an inspiring way. Thank you to Janet Johnson for coordinating all the volunteers and to Anna Hughes for coordinating the concert. Thank you to the River Run Centre staff for welcoming us in such a warm, supportive way. We are so lucky to have such a fine venue to showcase the talents of our wonderful students!

Videos and pictures will be made available in the coming week.

SSSG Canada Summer Jobs student summ

Introducing our new summer student employee, Sarina Mizutani!

Sarina is an alumni of the school and she just finished her 3rd year in music performance at Wilfrid Laurier University. Thanks to a grant from Canada Summer Jobs, She has joined the SSSG administrative team for the next two months. Sarina's main activity will be to deliver string workshops in kindergartens throughout the city and be the face of SSSG at school fairs and community events.

Sarina has already contacted some of our families about reaching out to their school principal about hosting our kindergarten string workshops. Please help her out and try to make that connection. These workshops are great for the kindergartners as they get to experience first-hand how string instruments work. They are also great for our students, as they get to be involved in the delivery of the workshops and shine in front of the kindergarteners and their teachers.

Please welcome Sarina back into our school and support her in her work to spread music education throughout our city!
