On May 20, 2023, St. Thomas Aquinas High School celebrated its 59th Commencement exercises. Together with their families and friends, we celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2023, and recognized the impact this class has had on our community throughout their school journey.

We were particularly honored to witness two of our graduates receive appointments to service academies. Diana Pivirotto was presented with an appointment to the US Naval Academy and Ella Pottle was presented with an appointment to the US Coast Guard. We thank these exceptional women for dedicating their lives to proudly serving our country.

This year's Valedictorian, Alyona "Ally" Latsilnik, is truly inspiring. Holding a weighted grade point average of 4.66, Ally completed an accelerated high school program in only three years. She came to STA as a Freshman having already earned college credit through an Advanced Placement course, which she completed in middle school. In addition to her academic prowess, Ally excelled as an athlete on the track and the slopes, and is warm, caring, and sincere. We wish her luck as she majors in Biological Physics on a Pre-Med track at Georgetown University.

We are incredibly proud of all of our graduates. These young men and women will go on to shine their light at some incredible colleges, universities, service academies, and employers all over the country. We wish them well in all of their future endeavors and are excited to welcome them back home for Young Alumni Day!
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Phase II of our capital campaign construction took place this summer. Key features include safety improvements, such as new lights, sprinklers, firewalls, fire alarms, and classroom doors. We are completely renovating our gymnasium with new floor lines, poly surface, brand new bleachers, fresh paint, and enhancements to the stage and interior walls. The exterior of the building was power washed and a new exterior to our chapel will bring attention and life to the space where our community can gather in prayer.

ALUMNI DEDICATION
Christopher M. Kennedy '08 Classroom & Scholarship
We were honored to host a dedication ceremony for the Christopher M. Kennedy ‘08 Classroom and Scholarship. Christopher “Chris” Kennedy was a 2008 graduate of STA, where he met his loving wife Dr. Kelleigh (McKenna) Kennedy '08, a current STA Science Department faculty member. Chris passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2022. The Kennedy and McKenna families chose to honor Chris’ legacy by dedicating a classroom in his memory. They also established a scholarship in his memory to a student who shares Chris’ interest in History, Engineering, or military-related subjects. This year’s inaugural recipient was Cameron Wishart ‘25.
