Weekly Gospel Study

Sandwich Making

Volunteers from various STA ministries will make sandwiches for the House of Bread in Hartford. This is a wonderful serving ministry, and great way to start your Saturday morning! Please bring cheese and/or cold cuts for the sandwiches; Big Y will donate the bread. Contact  Anna with any questions.
Sit with us at Mass!
most Sundays, 5:00 p.m.

There is an unofficial cohort of Crossfire members who typically (key word: typically) go to Sunday 5 p.m. mass at St. Thomas the Apostle. We've been talking for a while about creating a designated spot to sit together so no one feels alone at Mass. We tend to sit at the left side toward the middle-front. Join us!

Miles for Miracles 5k!
Saturday, Sept. 21, 7:30 a.m.
Mortensen Riverfront Park

Join us for a local 5k Run to benefit Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation. Your gift will support everything from nonclinical resources needed to assist families in need to funding research and state-of-the-art lifesaving equipment. Registration is $25 and you can sign up  here.
Eucharistic Adoration
Saturday, Oct. 5, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
STA lower church

Crossfire sponsors a day of Eucharistic adoration on the first Saturday of every month in the lower church (use side entrance and walk downstairs). You can sign up for a slot on  this google form. If you don't want to commit to a slot, you are still welcome to come any time. Father Moran celebrates a Divine Mercy Holy Hour that begins at 3 p.m.
Food Pantry Volunteering
Saturday, Oct. 12, 8:30 a.m.

Help package, organize, and distribute food to those in need at St. Justin-St. Michael Food Pantry. The address is 230 Blue Hills Avenue in Hartford. Please email Patrick Laorden if you plan to participate. Typically we need 4 volunteers.

Newport Half Marathon

Last year a group of us ran the Newport Half Marathon and are planning on doing it again this year. Some of us carpooled and drove down day-of, others went up early and turned it into a weekend. Either way it's a cool run along the beach and a lovely historic town. All are welcome to either run or cheer us on. register now!
Taize Prayer

Taizé Worship is a contemplative service of song, silence, prayer, and scripture reading. The service offers a time to center ourselves in the presence of God, to let go of the busy schedules of our lives, and be held in God’s tender love and compassion.
