Mirabeau Transit Center To Open for Service March 9

STA will begin operations at the new Mirabeau Transit Center on Sunday, March 9. While the facility will be in use, final interior work will continue through March. The east-side parking lot will close for reconstruction on March 10, with completion expected in May. The new transit center will serve Routes 32, 74, 97, and 771 and includes capacity for future routes.

Women Leaders in Transit Honored

E. Susan Meyer, former STA CEO, and Amie Blain, STA Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer, were honored at the 2025 Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Spokane-Coeur d’Alene Annual Awards Gala on Thursday, February 20. Meyer was named Woman of the Year for her transformative leadership and mentorship at STA while Blain received Member of the Year for her dedication to advancing women in transportation. The event celebrated industry professionals, featured a keynote by Charlene Kay of the Washington State Department of Transportation, and highlighted WTS’s mission to empower women in transportation. Congratulations to Susan and Amie for their outstanding contributions!

STA Presents Transit Award to Coffman Engineers

At the Commute Smart Champion Awards Ceremony, STA presented the 2024 Transit Award to Coffman Engineers. The award recognizes a regional employer with the largest growth in employee participation in the Employer Sponsored Bus Pass program. Congratulations, Coffman Engineers!

Survey and Open House for Division TOD Project

Help shape the future of Division Street through an upcoming survey and open house for the Division Street Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Project. The open house, hosted by the City of Spokane and Spokane County, will be held at NorthTown Mall on Thursday, February 27 from 6 - 8 pm near the Barnes & Noble by the Wellesley Avenue entrance.

 

An online survey has launched, allowing the public to provide input on emerging development areas, community vision, and other potential improvements. The survey closes Monday, March 31.
