Texas Lions Camp is a no charge camp for students with disabilities.
The list of disabilities they take is extensive (see page 2 of the pamphlet)---the kids you might not think have an obvious disability qualify!!!!
We don't give out names to Lions club but rather offer the info to you parents so you can reach out to Lions Club.
McKinney Lions Club offers free transportation to Kerrville the week of June 17th, however the students may attend the week of their choosing at No Charge and provide their own transportation.

As we approach the end of the school year it is important that we have up-to-date information for every student. Please look at the following items and make sure that you are prepared for next year!
EMAIL ADDRESS - Does the school have your email address so that you receive important reminders and know when to complete the online registration update this summer?
HOME ACCESS CENTER (HAC) - Do you know your HAC login and password? It is important that you know this so that you can check your child's progress and see their report card. If you need this information, please contact an AP secretary or the registrar.
MOVING FROM MCKINNEY? -If your child will be moving to a school other than an MISD school, please contact Lynne Wells, [email protected], prior to the end of the year so that we can give you the withdrawal papers you will need to enroll at the new school.
|
IS YOUR STUDENT GOING TO GET A LEARN'S PERMIT TO DRIVE THIS SUMMER? |
I know that the thought of your student getting a learner's permit is probably scary, but they will need a Verification of Enrollment (VOE) when they apply at the Texas Department of Public Safety. If your child turns 15 over the summer and will be applying for a learner's permit, please make sure to request a VOE from the registrar before the last day of school. VOE's are NOT required to enroll in driver's education programs, they are only needed when you actually apply for the permit. Please contact Lynne Wells, [email protected]
, to obtain a VOE.

PTO Board Members Needed
Panther parents, we are looking for a few more wonderful people who are interested in making a difference in the lives of our Evans educators and our students. We have the following positions open on the PTO Board:
Teacher Appreciation ... what's more fun than recognizing the contributions of our staff with a few special events each year? A detailed book is available with past events/costs/volunteer needs, etc.
Concessions (2 co-chairs) ... our PTO makes thousands of dollars by shopping for and staffing the concession stand at home football games. It's a limited time position since it ends when the last Evans football game is played.
8th Grade Activities ... help us celebrate our 8th graders at this special end-of-the-year event. This is another limited time activity.
Please email [email protected] ASAP if you'd be interested in helping. We'd like to have a full board to vote on at our May 11th general meeting. We need you, and it's so rewarding to be such a big part of our school.
Keep sending in those Box Tops!
The PTO turns them into cash for our school. Just place your Box Tops in a baggie (please check those expiration dates!), put your student's name and grade on the outside, and drop them off in the box in the school office. The student who donates the most Box Tops between now and Friday, May 18, will receive two free passes to any Cinemark Theatre. If you have already submitted
Box Tops since our last contest, we are keeping track!
BECOME A PTO MEMBER!
Your membership provides valuable funds to our school as well as giving you a vote in PTO events and programs.
*Awarded $6000 in teacher grants
*Sponsored the IMPACT carnival, Pay it Forward Fun Run and 8th Grade Celebration
*Funded two scholarships to graduating Evans' seniors
*Presented multiple parent enrichment workshops
*Helped to support academic programs like the spelling bee, UIL and AVID
*Hosted teacher appreciation events throughout the year
Most importantly, our PTO fosters a sense of school community while supporting students. We play a crucial role in helping to create an environment that is nurturing, educational, and exciting for all of our Panthers.
Please consider joining the PTO! You can
download the membership form
or purchase your
membership online.
Please remember that you must be approved through MISD before you can volunteer. Please click HERE to go online and complete your application.
Last year applications will run out at the end of September.
Thanks so much!!!

Please remember that if you are a returning volunteer, or maybe a first time MISD volunteer, that you must go online to fill out a Volunteer Application and be approved before you can serve in any capacity where you will have contact with students. Sometimes this takes a couple of weeks, so please do it as soon as possible! We need you!!!

Thank you so very much! We look forward to having you on our campus!
Note:
Volunteer applications may take up to two weeks to be processed.

IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION |
Dear Parents,
Although some of he following information is not new, we would like to remind you of a few policies we have in place here at Evans Middle School. We can't thank you enough for your cooperation!
*For the safety and security of all MISD students and staff, everyone is required to show government issued ID (driver's license, identification card, passport etc.) upon entering the campus or accessing student information.
*In the event your student forgets an item at home, you are welcome to leave it on the cabinet in the front office. Please make sure it is clearly and visibly marked with your student's name. We cannot be responsible for anything left on the cabinet and all food items will be thrown out at 3:45pm. In an effort to keep our classrooms as free from disruption as possible, we will not make phone calls or deliveries to students for items left for pick up.
*We are happy to have your student come to the front office to be checked out once you are in the building, but we do not call students in advance. This will keep our students in the classroom as much as possible. If your student is in a fine arts class, lunch or a PE/Athletics class, please allow for additional time when picking them up. Please be sure that the person picking up your student is on your contact list. We will need to see your driver's license every time you enter campus. Thank you in advance for your help with this.
*We will not be able to call a classroom for dismissal after 3:15pm in order to minimize disruption at the end of the school day. If you must pick your student up at the end of the day, please arrive in plenty of time to meet this deadline. We appreciate your understanding.
*While you are welcome to bring lunch up to school for your child, bringing food to anyone other than your student is prohibited. This is a federally mandated directive.
