Dear STAR EV Dealers,
Due to significant material price increases, both domestic and international,
we are having to make a price adjustment on all STAR vehicles. As you are aware,
prices have significantly escalated since the beginning of the year and up to now we have absorbed many of these costs. However, we now find it imperative to implement
an increase.
Effective immediately, a price increase for all new car orders will be applied. Each model has been evaluated individually and the new prices are posted on the Dealer Portal. Depending on the model the increase will range from 5% to 10%.
Please note: Existing car orders will be honored at the quoted price. The rate increase only applies to new car orders. (Excluding possible adjustments to the Freight Surcharge)
Due to the enormous rate increases in ocean freight, a surcharge was added in June based on the rate of $15,000 per container. We cannot predict how long the surcharge will be in effect, as we have seen rates continuing to increase. Today, that same shipping container is over $25,000. It is our goal to reduce and/or remove the Ocean Freight Surcharge as soon as reasonable, however, we reserve the right to adjust the freight surcharge as it is driven by market conditions which have been and still are very volatile.
Not once since the pandemic started have we closed our doors. Inventory of STAR vehicles is increasing weekly as market demand continues to grow. Production is building record numbers of cars per week, and we continue to ship cars daily. Even with the various product shortages and delays, our goal is to ship your car orders.
