It's Father's Day weekend and that means its time for the Fort Union Rendezvous at Fort Union. The Rendezvous is in full swing as is the Miss North Dakota Scholarship Pageant at Bakken Elementary. We wish everyone a safe and happy weekend filled with fun activities!

STAR Fund allocates $98,000 to Projects at Creedence, Dan's Tire Service, Creation Carpets
The Williston STAR Fund board of directors meets monthly at the Center for Development. The board has seven members.
Williston Economic Development - The Williston City Commission has approved up to $98,000 for three large business projects in Williston. The commission approved grants from the STAR Fund Flex PACE program to fund expansions at Creedence Energy Services and Dan's Tire Service and improvements at Creation Carpets. Williston Economic Development (WED) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) said these projects support the trend of larger projects in 2019 compared to 2018. "Activity is up significantly," said Keith Olson SBDC Williston Regional Director. "We are seeing the projects get bigger again; renters are buying their buildings, people are buying equipment and seeing a lot of opportunity." Read More
Williston Airport Enplanements up 20.9 Percent in May
Enplanements continue to climb at Sloulin Field International Airport. Boardings during May 2019 were up nearly 21% compared to one year ago. In 2018, there were 6,509 boardings compared to 7,868 this year. The new XWA Airport is slated to open in October. At that time, the Sloulin Field airport will be decommissioned and closed. McKenzie County Commission allocates $1 Million for Golf Course Expansion
The McKenzie County Commission approved giving an additional $1 million to the McKenzie County Job Development Authority (JDA), for the golf course. "The county through the JDA has already provided $750,000 for the project over the last two years," stated Joel Brown, JDA president, as he made the request to the commissioners last Tuesday.  For the full story, subscribe to the McKenzie County Farmer
Whiting donation to bring Obstetrics
back to Watford City
Whiting Oil and Gas donated $200,000 for a new labor and delivery wing at the hospital in Watford City.
McKenzie County Farmer - While the McKenzie County Healthcare Systems Inc. has not been able to offer obstetrics services to the women of McKenzie County for over 20 years, thanks to the generous donation of Whiting Oil and Gas, those services will return to the new hospital. Equinor donates $22,000 to Emergency Services in Northwestern North Dakota
News Release - Equinor, an international energy company, is donating over $22K to emergency management services in the McKenzie, Mountrail and Williams counties in North Dakota. The donated funds will help first responders meet and enhance the individual needs in each county to protect and support those communities.  Read More
