We know that it’s been a challenging month for everyone, with COVID and staffing challenges on top of the usual Q1 stress, so we’re pushing back the January Site:Site Zoom Conversation and regular monthly meetings.
We are working on a couple of zoom conversations that we think will be of interest, but if you have a topic that you would like to discussed, we'd love to hear from you!

January is
National Mentoring
Month
January is recognized as National Mentoring Month, a month-long opportunity to focus on being a mentor and raising awareness of mentoring. Founded in 2002, National Mentoring Month celebrates mentoring and the positive effect it can have, particularly on young people. Its goals are to:
- Raise awareness of mentoring in its various forms.
- Recruit individuals to mentor, especially in programs that have waiting lists of young people.
- Promote the rapid growth of mentoring by recruiting organizations to engage their constituents in mentoring.
This month, take time out to mentor or share some wisdom with someone, whether it's a young person, a friend, or a colleague. ❤

Project RockSTARR Advocacy Ace Awards
The RockSTARR Advocacy Ace Awards are given to individuals whose screened volunteers have designated the most donations to their local advocacy organizations. We'll feature our Advocacy Aces throughout the year.
This month, we're thrilled to spotlight Galina Prpich, part of the team at UCONN Health's Department of Psychiatry, who have raised over $800 in donations for their local NAMI and MHA chapters through the RockSTARR program. Two checks will be delivered to the site to take to the local NAMI and MHA offices to help build those relationships. Amazing work, Galina!

Advocacy Spotlight:
The Key Clubhouse of South Florida
We met with Debra Webb, Executive Director of The Key Clubhouse of South Florida, which is accredited by Clubhouse International as a best practice for Recovery programs. We were so impressed with their services which include healthcare, recreational, and employment services, and their facilities, which includes housing for members, offices, meeting and recreational areas.
The Key Clubhouse of South Florida follows the Clubhouse International program model of providing critical opportunities for those living with mental illness, providing them with key social interactions, aiding with employment, and providing emotional support in hopes of decreasing life's stressors associated with the diagnosis of mental illness. Members of the Clubhouse are individuals who have experience living with mental illness and they run every facet of the Clubhouse, being seen as a valued contributor to the organization. Members are able to gain confidence in their ability to contribute to society while simultaneously receiving integral care and support.

Our friends at the American Brain Coalition are asking for support for the creation of a Neuroscience Center of Excellence (NCOE) at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The Cures 2.0 Act includes language that would pave the way for the creation of a NCOE at the FDA. This language complements the Bringing Regulatory Advances Into Neuroscience (BRAIN) Act which would direct FDA to create a NCOE.
Congress needs to hear from you. Please urge your member of Congress to support the creation of a Neuroscience Center of Excellence by signing the letter in support of the creation of a Neuroscience Center of Excellence today.

Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) is excited to announce that registration is now open for the ADAA 2022 Annual Conference and that it will be held in person* March 17-20, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. ADAA members are encouraged to register by December 15, 2021.
