November is
National Caregivers Appreciation
Month

November is recognized as National Caregiver Appreciation Month, a month-long tribute to recognize those individuals providing care-giving support to a family member or loved one with a chronic illness or disability.

This month, take a moment to acknowledge caregivers and show them that you appreciate their efforts!

November 20, 2021 is International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day

In 1999, Congress designated International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day (ISOSLD) and placed it before Thanksgiving as the holiday season can be a hard time for survivors. Every year, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) supports Survivors Day events all over the world and the peace that it brings.
Although long overdue, November is an appropriate time to welcome the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to our Advocacy Workgroup. AFSP and The STARR Coalition have worked together in the past on various projects, including STARR 911, and we are thrilled to officially welcome them into our advocacy community.

AFSP is active all over the nation in their advocacy efforts for suicide prevention and awareness and we look forward to this partnership with them to further the conversation and learn from their successful efforts.

AFSP is continuing to have their annual Out of the Darkness walks, please check out the list HERE to find a walk near you and support suicide prevention and awareness!
