‘Heroic Work’: Biden Congratulates Coast Guard Hero He’s Trying to Fire

President Biden lauded U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Survival Technician Second Class Zach Loesch as a hero for saving lives as Hurricane Ian was ravaging the Florida peninsula. Loesch kicked through a wall to rescue a 94-year-old disabled woman and her husband, hoisting them — and her wheelchair — into a helicopter amid high winds.

However, Loesch is about to be kicked out of the Coast Guard on President Biden’s orders for refusing the COVID vaccine. He requested a religious exemption according to established procedures, but his request was denied. He appealed the denial, but that too was denied. Now, Loesch expects to be terminated within 30-60 days.

“It just sucks that he thanked me, yet the vaccine mandate is what’s kicking me out. I just love my job. And I’m really good at it. It sucks. I feel like this is the job that I was born to do.”

L. Todd Wood's CD Media Interview with Dr. Sandy Miarecki

Dr. Sandy Miarecki was an Air Force test pilot, instructor and flight safety officer until her retirement from active duty after 20 years. Her health at retirement was poor due to a vaccine injury incurred during the Gulf War. She was fired from her civilian physics instructor position at the US Air Force Academy Prep School for refusing to take the COVID vaccine, and for helping cadet candidates and cadets apply for religious exceptions based on published AF and USAFA procedures.

Air National Guard Board Finds Military's Shaky COVID Vax Mandate Unlawful, As West Point Holds Out

In a unanimous decision similar to the Navy's in the spring, an Air National Guard administrative separation board voted to retain Technical Sergeant (TSgt) Jacob Byers, who refused to comply with the military's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Meanwhile, West Point found an unvaccinated cadet guilty of misconduct.

The seperation board found that the vaccine order was unlawful, that the mandate was for the experimental COVID vaccines approved under FDA emergency use authorization (EUA). As the article notes, “The military can only legally force service members to receive vaccines that are fully approved by the FDA.”

Has the Air Force Academy Become Just Another Liberal Arts School?

By Dr. Scott Sturman, M.D. USAFA ’72, STARRS Board of Advisors

Total applications to the USAFA fell 28% in 2022 and qualified applications amounted to only 54% from the previous year. The director of admissions, Colonel Arthur Primas, used COVID as a scapegoat, but there are other causes at play.  When asked about Diversity and Inclusion’s (D&I) influence on Academy recruiting, he stated, "This focus has proven a tremendous strength for the U.S. Air Force Academy recruiting."  Is this controversial program used to achieve equal opportunity or does it have a more sinister aspect?

Fifty-four years ago, I was one of 1,250 cadets entering the class of 1972.  Four years later, only 754 cadets graduated — an attrition rate of 40% that was consistent with most classes from that era.  The administration recognized that the selection process was inherently imperfect, and it could not predict how candidates would perform under extreme duress.  Although an applicant may appear to be well qualified, it was impossible to discern how he would react to uncompromising expectations and relentless verbal and physical abuse.  The Academy administration sought to exert four years of unremitting pressure to force lesser committed cadets to resign and to forge a bond between classmates who elected to remain.

The USAF Finds Itself with a Critical Shortage of Pilots While Claiming It Has Too Many White Officers

Mid-career Air Force aviators have been told that they aren’t wanted -- meaning they have seen it in writing from Major General Ed Thomas, Commander, Air Force Recruiting Service, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas:

“We simply can no longer afford for significant segments of our society to be underrepresented in our U.S. Air Force or our newest branch, the U.S. Space Force. …In all, 86 percent of our aviators are white males. Less than 3 percent of our fighter pilots are females. The mission ... is to bring a singular focus to recruiting qualified women and minorities who have not always felt they belonged.”.

Runaway Wokeness at the

Air Force Academy

The Patriot Post’s writer and analyst, Douglas Andrews, writes a biting essay on the increasing trend of Wokeism and a nonsensical degree of political correctness infesting the US Air Force Academy. The evolution is shocking. From seven years ago when the militant atheist Mikey Weinstein of the Military Religious Foundation (MRFF) complained about that a Bible verse written on a cadet’s whiteboard outside his room violated separation of church and state, to the recent Academy seminar titled “Transgender Visibility and Awareness in Our Air Force,” Andrews chronicles this shift in focus from creating a warrior culture to establishing a coddling culture.

Air Force Academy Holds ‘Transgender Visibility’ Seminar

On 22 Sept, the United States Air Force Academy held a seminar promoting "transgender visibility and awareness in our Air Force.” The "discussion" session focused "on awareness for transgender communities in the military," according to a copy of an invitation for the event obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Events of this nature are part of a wholesale push by the U.S. military to “foster a more culturally inclusive environment.” Critics say this type of training is part of a Woke cultural agenda that is being mainstreamed by the Progressives/Marxists intent on declawing and defanging the military.
