As we wrap up our "Share Your Love of Yoga" referral campaign this week (get those purchases in before the end of the day tomorrow, 3/9/18), Kristi shares her thoughts on WHY she loves BYS Yoga (hint... it's because of all of YOU)!
STARTING A FAMILY (PART ONE)

Some may know that I left my job in architecture almost 16 years ago to start a family. At the time there were two things that I couldn't do... 1) Talk honestly about WHY I was leaving (struggling with infertility for years and hoping that a reduction in my stress level may help), and 2) Imagine that the family that I would eventually create would look very different than the one I had dreamed about.

This yoga studio became my baby in 2004 and as it has grown this beautiful community of people coming together, all searching for their own truth and their own authentic voices, became my family.

I truly believe that my dharma was to become the "mother" for this studio... at that time and in this place. I know now that needed it for my own growth. I see now that our neighborhood needed it as a place where, amidst the busy-ness of East Carson Street, people could find peace. I feel now that the Pittsburgh Yoga Community needed it as a home for, what we are now affectionately calling, "normal yoga" in a welcoming environment for all ages, shapes, and abilities.

So, WHY do I love BYS Yoga? It's because of YOU... my Yoga Family. It's all the incredible relationships forged within the studio walls which have supported, encouraged, and welcomed me to become more of who I am. The lifelong friendships, started on adjacent yoga mats, which have taught me how to ultimately strengthen ALL of my relationships and interactions. It's the fact that I now have the self confidence to speak more clearly and honestly, better understand (and listen to) my needs, and to continue following my dreams... most importantly, recognizing and honoring those dreams, even when they arrive in a different form than I once imagined.

In extreme gratitude and LOVE...

Namaste,
Kristi
