How long have you been at VHC & what prompted you to give?
I have been with VHC for over 10 years and have seen a constant and persistent dedication to patient outcomes. Whether it's reducing infection rates, focusing on patient safety, or addressing physician burnout, the Hospital continues to live up to its mission statement - "to Be the Best Hospital". Since joining the VHC Physician Group and working more closely with hospital leadership, I see focus on our mission in action at all levels. I support the Foundation because I am a believer! In the face of mounting pressures and changes in the healthcare environment, it is critical that VHC continues to thrive as an independent hospital system and maintains its long tradition of connecting directly with our community.
Why is it important to give back to VHC?
VHC is one of the only independent hospitals in Northern Virginia. This allows our physicians to focus all of our energy solely on providing high quality care to our patients. Not having the financial support of large, consolidated healthcare system means that the responsibility of maintaining such an institution is driven by community members. As physicians who give back, we demonstrate our commitment to the mission of VHC and the improvement of the health of the community in which we live.
What do you appreciate most about working for VHC?
The best thing about VHC are the people. Having worked at a number of area hospitals, I can truly say there is no place like VHC. The staff is professional, close-knit, and motivated to enhance the patient experience. The patient-centered care model is emphasized at all levels of the Hospital thanks to an engaged and dedicated staff.
