STATEMENT FROM BROOKLYN DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIR ON GOVERNOR CUOMO’S RESIGNATION
(Brooklyn, NY) -- Brooklyn Democratic Party Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn released the following statement in the wake of Governor Andrew Cuomo's resignation over sexual harassment scandals:

"Andrew Cuomo has done the right thing. His resignation was in the interest of the people of this state. In this disquieting time, there is some relief in seeing repercussions for Cuomo’s shameful conduct."

"Today, I called and congratulated Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, who will be the first woman to hold the state’s highest position when she steps up as Governor. Throughout her career, Hochul has supported labor, working families and empowered other women. In Brooklyn, Hochul is no stranger to us on a number of initiatives, such as Vital Brooklyn, and she will continue to be welcomed."

"It is time for us to work together with her to deliver reform and accountability as we help the state recover.”
We represent Democrats from every corner of this borough, all part of the largest county party in the country. We are an inclusive and diverse organization with leaders and activists from every neighborhood of Brooklyn.
