UPCOMING MEETINGS/EVENTS:
Plan Bay Area 2050 Call for Project Public Hearing Scheduled for May 8

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)/the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) has requested that the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) issue a call for transportation projects for Plan Bay Area 2050. On May 8, the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) is requesting input from the agency’s Citizens and Technical Advisory Committees on which projects should be submitted for Plan Bay Area 2050. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for the public to comment on the projects for consideration. The deadline for STA to submit Solano County transportation projects to MTC/ABAG is the end of June 2019.
SR 12/SR 113 Project Groundbreaking

Caltrans District 4 has started construction on the State Route (SR) 12/SR 113 Roundabout Project. This $4.6 million project is entirely funded by the State Highway Operations and Protection Program (SHOPP). STA and Caltrans will celebrate the start of construction for this important safety project with a groundbreaking celebration at that Western Railroad Museum in June 2019!

SolanoExpress Ridership Survey Results

STA recently updated the ridership survey for SolanoExpress. Over 2,500 on-board surveys were conducted on the five SolanoExpress Routes (80, 85, Blue, Green, and Yellow). Results from the survey determines each local transit operators’ funding contribution and helps operators make informed decisions regarding future service changes. For information about SolanoExpress, please visit: www.sta.ca.gov/programs/solano-express
Development of Coordinated Short Range Transit Plans

MTC allocated federal transit funds for STA to work with Solano County’s five transit operators to update the Coordinated Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP). Three recommended priorities for this Coordinated SRTP are: access to medical trips, connectivity of local transit services to regional transit services (Ferry, Rail and SolanoExpress), and access to Priority Development Areas (PDAs).

Support for TFCA Grant Request for Bay Trail/Vine Trail Funding

STA was awarded a regional competitive Active Transportation Program (ATP) grant worth $4.6 million for the City of Vallejo to implement its segments of the Bay Trail/Vine Trail. Once this trail is complete, it will connect to the Bay Trail/Vine Trail from Napa County to the Vallejo Waterfront, Ferry, and PDA. During the environmental clearance process, the City of Vallejo identified that additional funding was required to fully fund the design and construction of the project. STA submitted a request to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) for the regional Transportation Fund for Clean Air (TFCA) to complete the funding for the project.
Solano Mobility Program Updates
