| | State Route 37 Fairgrounds Drive Project Construction Update | | The Solano Transportation Authority, in close coordination with its transportation partner, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), is continuing construction work on the new State Route 37 (SR 37)/Fairgrounds Drive Interchange Project in Vallejo. The interchange improvement project will enhance motorist safety and improve bicycle and pedestrian access with construction of a new Diverging Diamond Interchange. This is the first-ever Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) constructed in the Bay Area and only the second-ever constructed on a major highway in California. | | |
The Diverging Diamond Interchange will provide a safer, easier entrance to Vallejo while improving accessibility for residents and businesses near the SR 37 and Fairgrounds Drive corridor. The new interchange will improve traffic flow in the area, increasing connectivity to regional transit, the greater Vallejo area, and employment and recreation centers, including Six Flags/Discovery Kingdom. The project will allow bicyclists and pedestrians a more direct bike path to Vallejo from surrounding communities, such as American Canyon and Napa, and low-cost transportation options to local attractions.
Construction is scheduled to be finalized in late June/early July 2026.
| | STA Board Approves OBAG 4 Funding Allocation | | |
At the April 2026 STA Board meeting, the STA Board approved the funding strategy for the One Bay Area Grant (OBAG) Cycle 4 program. OBAG, administered by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, combines key federal funding sources to advance transportation projects, improve air quality, and implement long-term planning efforts aligned with regional goals such as Plan Bay Area 2050+. Since the program’s inception, STA has leveraged these funds to deliver critical infrastructure projects, support countywide transportation planning, and sustain programs like Safe Routes to School and Solano Mobility.
For OBAG Cycle 4, which covers fiscal years 2026–27 through 2029–30, the STA Board approved a total of $7.49 million in set-aside funding dedicated to planning, project programming, monitoring, and delivery activities. This includes $3.85 million in base funding provided by MTC, along with an additional $3.64 million in supplemental funds drawn from Solano County’s overall OBAG 4 share. Maintaining this funding level ensures STA’s ability to coordinate regional priorities, pursue competitive grant opportunities, and support implementation of major transportation initiatives across the county.

The Equitable Access to Justice Pilot Program was started in June 2023 by the Solano County Superior Courts in partnership with the Solano Transportation Authority to help jurors, prospective jurors, specialty court participants, and collaborative court participants who do not have access to transportation or cannot afford transportation by providing them with fully funded transportation subsidies for court-related travel within Solano County. The goal is to eliminate transportation obstacles as a barrier to court participation.
The Equitable Access to Justice Pilot Program offers 100% subsidized rides to/from AK Bean, Health & Human Services, La Clinica, Mare Island VA clinic, parole and probation offices, Southern Solano Alcohol Council, Superior Courts, and parole & probation offices.
The courthouses are open from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The Clerk’s Offices are open by drop-in 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM or by appointment 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. For more information on the Solano County Superior Courts, visit:
