Benicia Bus Hub Park and Ride Officially Opens
On August 26, the City of Benicia and the STA celebrated the official opening of the Benicia Bus Hub Park and Ride with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Located at the intersection of I-680, Park Road and Industrial Way in the Benicia Industrial Park, the Bus Hub Park and Ride is a stop on the SolanoExpress Blue Line serving Benicia Industrial Park’s workforce and commuters traveling to and from Solano and Contra Costa Counties. Save the Date – Update on Pedestrian Safety in Solano County
STA’s Safe Routes to School Program (SR2S) continues the focus on Pedestrian Safety in Solano County, which has the State’s 2nd highest rate of accidents involving vehicle and pedestrians under the age of 15. Please join STA, SR2S, Solano Public Health, and other community leaders on September 19 from 12pm – 2pm at the Joseph Nelson Center in Suisun City. For more information, please visit:

Save the Date – Fairfield-Vacaville Hannigan Station Dedication
On September 27th, the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), County of Solano, Cities of Fairfield and Vacaville, and the STA plan to celebrate the life, leadership, and vision of former California State Legislator and lifelong Solano County advocate, Tom Hannigan, with the dedication of the Fairfield-Vacaville Hannigan Station. Additional details will follow in the coming weeks.

Transportation Forum for the Communities and Neighborhoods of Vallejo
In partnership with the City of Vallejo and Solano County Transit (SolTrans), the STA hosted a Transportation Forum for Communities and Neighborhoods in Vallejo at the Norman King Community Center in South Vallejo on Tuesday, July 30. A second Transportation Forum is planned for October 24, 2019, at the North Vallejo Community Center. Input received from the public during both forums will be used to develop a Community Based Transportation Plan. The Plan will set priorities and guide actions and investments to improve mobility for Vallejo residents who have been underrepresented in the past. The completed plan is scheduled for release in December 2019. Registration for the Oct. 24th transportation forum will begin soon. Please visit:

SR 12/SR 113 Roundabout Project Construction on Schedule
Caltrans District 4 construction crews continue to make progress on the State Route (SR) 12/SR 113 Roundabout Project. This $4.6 million project is entirely funded by the State Highway Operations and Protection Program (SHOPP), which is funded by Senate Bill 1 (SB1) the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. Caltrans anticipates completing construction on schedule in October 2019.

- New vanpools started: 3
- Total number of vanpools: 201
- Total number of vanpool riders per day: 2,233
- Total number of vanpool trips in FY 2018-19: 1.16 million
- Number of back-up vanpool driver incentives dispersed: 7
- Number of new vanpool incentives dispersed: 13
Solano Mobility Call Center for FY 2018-19
- Number of customers assisted: 11,872 (an increase of 40% over prior fiscal year)
- Number of commuters signed up for incentives program: 183
Solano Express for FY 2018-19
- Number of passenger trips: 1,094,383 (an increase of 3% over prior fiscal year)
- New Red Line Launched July 1; this completes Phase 2 of SolanoExpress Route Re-alignment

- Number of years for the SR2S Program: 10

Regional Transportation Impact Fee (RTIF) for FY 2018-19
- Passed $7 million dollar mark
- Solano County Board of Supervisors approved an extension for an additional five years and increased the RTIP subset from the Public Facilities Fee (PFF)

Staff Update
Neil Quintanilla joined STA as the new Marketing Assistant on August 1. Neil is a resident of Fairfield and comes to STA from Full Access Marketing, part of the 60th Force Support Squadron at Travis Air Force Base. He's been working on graphic design, marketing and events there for the past four years to enhance the morale, welfare and recreation for our local Airmen and their families. Neil will work with STA’s Marketing and Legislative Program Manager, Vincent Ma.
