I-80/I-680/SR-12 Groundbreaking
Construction officially began for Package 2A of the I-80/I-680/SR 12 Interchange Project at the virtual groundbreaking event near the Cordelia RV Center at 10am on Thursday, October 29th, co-hosted by STA and Caltrans. This $67 million construction project, funded largely by Senate Bill 1, will provide a two lane connection from SR 12 Jameson Canyon to I-80 in the East Bound direction. The project will improve traffic flow for commuters and freight by configuring ramps and access to local streets, increase safety, and is scheduled to be open to traffic in two years.
The virtual groundbreaking ceremony was hosted by STA Board Chair, Vacaville Mayor Ron Rowlett, Solano County Supervisor and STA Board member Jim Spering, and members of Caltrans Bay Area, and featured pre-recorded messages from Caltrans Bay Area Director Tony Tavares, Fairfield Mayor Harry Price, State Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Solano, and Rep. John Garamendi, D-Solano.
The project’s ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for December 2022. For more information on I-80/I-680/SR 12 Interchange Project: Package 2A, visit the Caltrans project website here.
