Increase of Regional Transportation Impact Fee (RTIF) for Transportation Projects

In August, the Solano County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an extension of the County Public Facility Fee (PFF) , which includes an increase of the Regional Transportation Impact Fee (RTIF) revenue from $1,500 per dwelling unit equivalent (an estimated $1.2 million) going forward. Since its inception over five and a half years ago, an estimated $7 million has been generated for the RTIF program. These revenues have funded a variety of RTIF eligible transportation projects linked to development in Solano County, such as the Jepson Parkway in Fairfield and Vacaville, SR-37 Fairgrounds Drive in Vallejo, Benicia Bus Hub, and SR-12/Church Rd in Rio Vista.
Funding Plan for Vallejo Station Phase B

In 2018, the SF Bay Area Ferry provided over a million ferry rides between Vallejo and San Francisco. As ridership continues to grow, the STA has been working with Solano County Transit (SolTrans) and the City of Vallejo to provide more frequent transit connections (SolanoExpress Red and Yellow lines), expand transit facilities and improve active transportation access (walking and biking) to the ferry terminal. Phase B of the Vallejo Station Project will add 857 parking spaces (400 more than originally planned) to help meet the current and projected future increase in ridership and for parking demand. The first phase of the project added 750 spaces and was completed in June 2019. In partnership with the City of Vallejo, STA has developed a draft funding plan to construct Phase B and provide additional congestion relief for I-80.
2019 Solano County Pothole Report Addendum

An addendum to the 2019 Solano County Pothole Report was approved by the STA that highlights the status of local streets and roads and augments the previously approved Solano County Pothole Report. This addendum includes individual summaries for all seven Cities and the County’s local streets and roads network. To view the 2019 Solano County Pothole Report, please click here .
SolanoExpress Continues Service Improvements

Following the successful launch of the Red Line, SolanoExpress will be purchasing additional buses, evaluating ridership with onboard surveys, and transitioning to an Automated Vehicle Location and Automated Passenger Counting (AVL/AVP) system to monitor current service levels and assist with future system-wide improvements. The purchase of two additional buses, which have already been ordered and are anticipated to be delivered by June 2020, will enable the Red Line to expand service by providing 30-minute frequency between Vallejo and Fairfield.
STA Staff Update

On September 16, STA welcomed Mey Saechao into the Accounting Department as the new Accountant 1/Grants Coordinator. She will help STA’s Program staff monitor and account for multiple grants and funding administered by the STA. Mey joins the STA from the County of Sacramento, is a resident of Elk Grove, and will be exploring alternative commuting options to avoid congestion on I-80. She will report to STA's Accounting/Administrative Services Manager, Susan Furtado.
