Shnorhali School End-of-Year Handeses and Graduation Ceremony
June 5th and 12th, Shnorhali School at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church marked the end of the school year by celebrating the year-end academic accomplishments with our community.
Our Kindergarteners performed beautifully by presenting famous Armenian poems and songs and promised to study and preserve the sacred Armenian language and their ancestral culture and heritage and remain true to the faith of our Church. First graders’ event was dedicated to honoring Mesrop Mashtots, during which students paid tribute to the Great Teacher. Middle graders introduced our great writers and their works by drawing parallels between the “Vernatun” and modern days. Our 7th graders along with our graduating class presented an event with the symbolic title "Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going?" It was a reflection of our historical and cultural past on the future. During the event, the students presented excerpts from Armenian mythology, epics, medieval fiction, and new literature. The event was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Yeghishe Charents, and the plot was based on Charents' boundless love for books and literature.
The school principal, Nunik Nishanian, and Pastor Rev. Hovsep Karapetyan wrapped up the academic year, sharing our students’ accomplishments and achievements, recognizing and honoring all our teachers, who spared no effort to challenge our students and encouraged them to reach their fullest potential and acknowledged volunteers whose dedication and support made the academic year a great success. The recent chess tournament results were also announced, and the winners were awarded medals.
We would like to take a moment to congratulate all those students who graduated from Shnorhali School. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. It has been a privilege to watch you grow and we hope that you take what you have learned here and serve the Armenian community and our homeland, by any means necessary.

Meeting With Human Rights Defender of Armenia
On Sunday, June 19th after celebrating badarak our parishioners had the opportunity to meet with the human rights defender of Armenia, Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan. We are thankful to Ms. Grigoryan for making herself available. After the briefing and providing updates, parishioners participated in a Q&A session.

ST. MARY Ararat AVAK Society's FATHER’S DAY EVENT
On Sunday, June 19th Father’s Day was celebrated by many parishioners. And those of you who had ordered the Lamb Shank meal was in for a delicious treat. We are grateful for our dedicated Ararat AVAK Society members who once again delivered the scrumptious meals. Thank you to all our volunteers and supporters.

ASGB End of Year Celebration
On June 11th the Armenian School of Greater Baltimore (ASGB, @baltimorearmenianschool) held its end-of-year handes. The program celebrated select symbols of Armenia through songs and poems, including the alphabet, Mt. Ararat, and more.
Families were joined by former teachers and Fr. Hovsep to celebrate the learning accomplished and fun had during the school year. In addition to the program, the Armenian Youth Center generously presented a $2,000 grant to the school to support their endeavors in the coming year.
As teacher Karineh Tarpinian remarked during the opening comments, this school year marked a return to the classrooms after a year of virtual learning. It was also the first in a new facility, St. John Lutheran Church in Linthicum, that welcomed ASGB under its roof with open-arms. Two additional reasons to celebrate!
