SHNORHALI MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER
MARCH 2021
Lenten Period

This year's theme of St. Mary Lenten Services and Presentations was "Seven Deadly Sins". Each Wednesday during the Lenten period parishioners gathered at the church and joined on St. Mary YouTube channel to worship together and participate in discussions and presentations. St. Mary's parishioners Eric Ashbaihian, Maggie Avedisian, Shoghik Sahakian, Ara Stepanyan, Dn. Mark Krikorian and Yn. Jennifer talked about Seven Deadly Sins during their presentations, they explained their effects and dangers on the life of the faithful and gave some helpful tips on how to resist those sins.
Women's Guild Mid Lenten Luncheon

On Sunday, March 14th, the Women’s Guild held its annual Mid-Lenten Luncheon in carry-out style. The vegetarian menu offered a delicious variety that appealed to many and proved to be a favorite. Once again, the event’s success would not have been possible without our generous donors, supporters and volunteers. The Women’s Guild is so very grateful for each and every individual who was involved in this luncheon.

Whether you were a donor, a supporter, a volunteer, or perhaps all three, we THANK YOU!
Palm Sunday: The Doorway to Holy Week

On March 28, St. Mary Armenian Church celebrated Palm Sunday, the feast of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week- the sacred commemoration of the dramatic events leading to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, His victory over death, and the redemption of humanity and the fallen world. The Armenian Church re-enacts these episodes in the days leading up to Easter.

After a long absence due to the pandemic, it was nice to see a lot of parishioners coming back to church in person to worship.
Women's Guild Palm Sunday Bake Sale

The Women’s Guild held its annual Choreg and Bake Sale event on Palm Sunday, March 28th. Orders were purchased through the St. Mary Food Festival website through Saturday, March 27th. Anyone who missed the online ordering deadline was able to purchase the delicious baked goods in the church hall after church services. Thanks to the many talented bakers of the Women’s Guild, the event was nearly sold out by the end of the day. Once again, the Women’s Guild is very grateful to all who volunteered and donated to this very successful event. The Women’s Guild would also like to acknowledge and thank Classic Bakery for its very generous donation of the delicious Gata for this event. Classic Bakery has been donating to the Women’s Guild for years and we are so very thankful for their unending support.
