HOW IT WILL WORK

participants are urged to practice social distancing and refrain from events that draw crowds
Churches, block clubs and community groups
that register will have their neighborhood networks engage in a variety of activities, many of them in their own spaces, homes, businesses, etc. This can be done without crowds.
Activate Your Block.
Community groups can register individually and encourage block residents to devise their Neighborhoods Day events at their homes.

educed from $50 to $25.
-Cleanup bags and enlarged yard signs
with the name of each registered organization will be provided. Participants are encouraged to display their banners and wear t-shirt of past Neighborhoods Days. Should we be able to secure funding, we will add hardware vouchers for beautification projects and t-shirts for your event.
POSSIBLE NEIGHBORHOODS DAY ACTIVITIES
Individual blight removal and beautification of homes and businesses with no more than 10 volunteers participating and practicing social distancing with face masks and gloves.
Homeowner spruce up and beautification projects, such as painting, mowing lawns, tree, flower or shrub planting.
School supply giveaways with curbside pickups as opposed to groups gathering to distribute supplies.
Front porch, front lawn, or backyard parties, barbecues, picnics and celebrations of various kinds with family members.
Musicians Challenge. Front porch or front lawn neighborhood music events with musicians playing their instruments on front porches.
Sidewalk games with chalk or other kids activities at their homes.
Neighborhood block dances with dancing to music in front of their homes or in driveways. Have DJ’s provide the music.
Artists challenge. Encourage local artists to display their paintings, sculptures, etc. on sidewalks in front of homes and businesses.
Serve A Senior. Encourage young people, or others, to do a service for a senior citizen, paint a house, spruce something up, food delivery, etc.
Social distance bike rides
Concerts with attendees in cars, similar to drive in movie theaters.
