Texas REALTORS® supported five of the 14 proposed constitutional amendments in Tuesday’s statewide election—and all five passed! The association remained neutral on the other nine propositions.

Housing Supply Shortages

Industry experts joined the Regulatory Issues Forum: Addressing Housing Affordability and Supply – The Case for Intergenerational Housing Tuesday at the 2023 NAR NXT: The Realtor® Experience.

The forum explored the many benefits of multigenerational housing, and how it can be a model to help address housing supply shortages and growing homeownership gaps that persist among many ethnic groups as homeownership affordability remains a top concern and challenge for millennial and Gen Z buyers.

NAR Comments on FinCEN's Proposed Beneficial Ownership Deadline Extension

On October 30, 2023, NAR submitted a comment in support of FinCEN's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that was released in September 2023 extending the reporting deadline from 30 calendar days to 90 calendar days for newly formed entities that will be formed any time within 2024. This proposed extension would allow newly formed reporting companies additional time to understand the beneficial ownership rule and the reporting obligations under the rule.
