A Message From the Principal

Welcome back!

We have had a super busy first week back! We attended the Governor’s celebration as a nonprofit and we now know that STEAD will also receive a donation from Colorado for All. We are so proud of our staff and students for their innovative practice and creativity that makes it all possible! We also had a visit from the Colorado Agriculture Commissioner, Kate Greenberg. During her visit, she spoke with students about the amazing projects and inspiration about why they chose STEAD. She is excited to partner with us as we dive deeper into our CTE pathways and internships that are beginning next year for our juniors. We also held our official groundbreaking and time capsule ceremony for building 3. The Saunders construction crew is out there working hard to get that building ready to go for our students in the fall!

Thank you to the community for filling out the stock show permission forms! We are ready to embark on our week of learning from experts at the stock show and at CSU SPUR. Friday morning our students will be presenting mini-lessons to the public at CSU SPUR after their research next week! Stay tuned via social media to see all of the cool experiences students will be having next week.

Thank you,

Amie Weldy

Open Enrollment for new to STEAD 9th-11th graders for the 2023-2024 school year is NOW OPEN! Spread the word!

Classroom Spotlight

The STEAD Singers (choir) took a field trip to a memory care center near Aurora to find out the residents' favorite songs. We heard so many amazing stories including a woman who was friends with Michael Jackson while working in the fashion business and a resident who was a trumpet plater who played with legends like George Harrison and Tony Bennett! The STEAD Singers will be learning these pieces and performing them later for the residents! STEAD students had so much fun, they didn't want to leave!
