STEAD Information and Updates

STEAD Esports Competition!

STEAD esports update! Our Mario Kart team faced off against Bountiful High School from Utah last Thursday! Team members Alex R., Isak A., Jaden G. and Aizlinn M. worked together for a 2-0 win! The team is now 3-1 and in 21st place out of a league of 104. Our Super Smash Bros. team, who is also currently 3-1, could not play last week due to a forfeit. They had a chance to run a local tournament with guide Weather Gardener claiming ultimate victory! Curious about esports? Come watch the Super Smash team on Wednesdays or Mario Kart Thursdays @4pm!

Looking for Plants!

Tyler’s plant science class is looking for any plants that people may be interested in donating and getting rid of.These plants will most likely not be able to be returned so thus why we are asking for plants you no longer need! The students will be cutting them up and separating them to propagate and learn the process of asexual plant reproduction and propagation. Plants such as ficuses, houseplants (pothos, snake plant, etc), cacti and succulents would be awesome for this experience! If you have any questions on whether your plants would be a good fit for this lesson and experience email Tyler at tschindler@thesteadschool.org.

Winter Sports

Please be sure to have your physical completed and submitted before the first day of practice. Coaches will not allow you to participate without a physical.

SAC/PAC Updates

Student Committee Representatives

We are adding a student committee to our PAC leadership board. If your child would be interested in having a voice in the planning of PAC activities and fundraisers please have your student send an email to pac@thesteadschool.org with "student committee" in the subject line. Students will be expected to attend monthly meetings. PAC meetings are held throughout the school year on the last Wednesday of each month (no meeting in December or May).

Community Updates

We are looking for snacks for our students. Donations will be accepted throughout the school year. If you are able to donate please drop off individual prepackaged, healthy snacks at the front office. Please avoid sugary snacks and produce. Thank you! We appreciate our STEAD community!

Our PAC has scheduled an awesome Community Spirit Night Event at Dions on November 15th from 5:00-8:00 pm at the 104th and Chambers location. Make sure to let them know you are there supporting STEAD and the hive guide with the most students in attendance wins a pizza party!

Coffee with the Principal

Our principal Amie Weldy will be at the Reunion Coffee House, 10601 Reunion Pkwy, Commerce City, CO 80022, on November 3rd from 8:30-9:30 am. When you order, say you are here with STEAD for a free drink on us while funds last.

Your Vote Counts 2022! Less Than Two Weeks to Turn In Your Ballot!

Ballots should have arrived to you last week! To those who completed their ballots and mailed or dropped them at a 24-Hour Drop Box Location, thank you for actively participating in this year’s election! Please read the important message HERE from 27J about the mill levy override (5B) on the ballot.

Classroom Spotlight-Project Launch Activities

Students at STEAD began their Launch activities to begin Project #2! We had a student potluck to reimagine school lunch and invited guardians, made homemade ice cream and went on a field trip to the Stanley Marketplace! Creating an entry event (launch) is a crucial aspect to the project-based learning design to engage students and create excitement about the upcoming project!
