STEAM Families,
On Wednesday of this week, we finished our last day of J-Term. Our students and staff enjoyed engaging in activities that were not necessarily content based and it allowed us to ease back into the semester and get back into a routine.
Yesterday we started the first day of our new schedules, so please be on the lookout for information from the teachers on course information and expectations.
We ended the day today with our J-Palooza which was a highlight event of all our fun work during J-Term. We had a gallery walk of some of the products that were created during the week, and we ended the event with a showcase of performances like poetry, juggling, dance, drama, and the rock band. Please see some picture highlights of J-Term below.
First semester report cards were mailed this week, so please be on the lookout for those. I hope everyone has a great weekend and please remember that Monday is MLK day and there is no school.

Winter Weather NTI Update: In the event of winter weather, the district may call for an NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction Day). If an NTI day is called, all STEAM teachers will post work that is asynchronous by 8am the morning of an NTI day. No specific times to log in will be needed and students can complete their work on their own. No new content will be delivered with the exception of Dual Credit courses. All teachers will be available for office hours from the times of 1:30-3:30pm on an NTI day. Those Zoom Links will be posted on our website and on each teacher's Canvas Page.
Students will have 3 days from the time we return to turn in all work, or it will be marked as missing, and they will also be marked as absent for the NTI day.
All Dual Credit courses will follow the expectations of the college and their professors as those classes are not on the same expectations as FCPS with regard to weather.

Each week we will try to spotlight staff members, students, community partners, a school event, a school club, etc. that adds value to our school community. This week we are spotlighting our STEAM J-Term Week.
Our students and staff really enjoyed our time during J-Term where many of our students were able to participate in activities they might not have ever participated in before. Students were scrapbooking, juggling, analyzing NBA scores, creating murals, playing in a rock band, making jewelry, painting with Bob Ross, pottery, planning vacations, and many more other fun activities. Below are some highlights of the week and I hope that your student has had many positive things to say about their J-Term experience. Thank you to our J-Term committee at school let by Dr. Lauer and Mr. Vaughan who worked very hard to ensure that the week was a success.
