Greetings Mid-Valley educators and community partners,

With spring break just around the corner, there’s even more to get excited about—upcoming STEAM education events for both students and educators!

Registration is now open for Computer Science for Oregon’s annual Summer Equity Symposium, a fantastic opportunity to explore inclusive CS education. This year's event takes place in beautiful Bend, Oregon, from July 28 - August 1. Reimbursements and stipends for attendees are available through the event organizers.

The second annual Latine Leadership Conference (4/25) as well as a free screening event of the documentary "Counted Out" (3/20) are also open for registration. You can find more information for both of those events below.

Stay tuned next month when we announce dates for our popular Educator Externships summer program and STEAM Happy Hour events at The MILL!

Empowering Future Leaders!

Join us for the Latine High School Leadership Conference, an inspiring event for Latine high school students in Linn and Benton Counties. This annual conference builds leadership skills, cultural pride, and academic and career readiness through interactive workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities.

Students will gain confidence in leadership, explore STEM and CTE career opportunities, and strengthen their bilingual and bicultural identity. Workshops on college admissions, financial aid, and career pathways will prepare attendees for post-secondary success.

Keynote speakers will share personal journeys, fostering self-advocacy and a growth mindset. Networking with peers, educators, and professionals will create valuable connections, while a resource fair offers insights from colleges, community organizations, and industry leaders.

Linn-Benton Community College is excited to host this impactful event. Are you ready to join us?
