Hardeeville Junior Senior High School students learned about Kinetic and potential energy by using Mbot robots to test their strength. Students learned that you must use kinetic energy in order to test their strength by shaking the Mbot. Kinetic energy that is possessed while an object is in motion. Their goal was to determine which team would exert the most energy on the robot to display their strength. Students also learned how to program their robots using the Mbot coding application to control their robot from an iPad.

STEM Bus Visits HES

Hardeeville Elementary School students learned how to create model using 3D pens and 3Dprinters on the STEM Bus. Students learned how to use various features on the 3D pens and learned how to create three dimensional objects by extruding the heated plastic filament. Students also learned and how 3D printers are used in the real world to create things such as prosthetic ligaments, missing parts, and now 3D printed homes.

JCSD Leaders Participate in Workforce Roundtable

The Lowcountry Council of Governments, along with the SC Department of Employment and Workforce, held a Regional Workforce Roundtable. Our districts’ leader's participation in the Roundtable allows us to have a seat at the table and represent the needs of the children of Jasper County. 

The Roundtable, held in Jasper County at the Palmetto Electric Community Room, allowed the lowcountry’s industry and educational leaders to share ideas and strategies that they hope to improve and make the workforce more responsive to the needs of the local communities.

Food Service Department Leaders Attend Professional Development Conference

Last week, our Food Services team took some time to attend the School Nutrition Association (SNA) of SC Conference. They had opportunities to participate in sessions like "The main Ingredient in your Cafeteria is L.O.V.E." and round table discussions for cafeteria managers. Our Food Services team works tirelessly to ensure that our scholars are well-fed. Attending conferences is a great way to get important information, learn how others solve common problems, and connect with like-minded professionals within our state.
