Meet Tyler: Boys to STEM Academy Alum & Chris Crane Memorial Scholar
"The Boys to STEM Academy shaped me in many meaningful ways. Being surrounded by mentors and professionals who genuinely cared about my growth helped me see myself in engineering spaces.
Through the program, I gained hands-on STEM experience, learned how to navigate professional environments through events like the networking dinner, and built relationships that continue to support me today.
What means the most to me is the ability to stay involved with the program even years after I first attended. The Exelon Foundation Boys to STEM Academy team continued to reach out through mentorship opportunities, events across the many cities they serve, and STEMinist updates, along with countless other ways to stay connected.
Participating in STEM Days, serving as a mentor, and being a STEM Ambassador have allowed me to help and connect with so many students. Going from being a student in the academy to someone others look to for support, and now serving as student staff within the program, has been incredibly meaningful.
As a Chris Crane Memorial Scholar, I carry the values of Boys to STEM with me every day, especially the importance of representation, access, and lifting others as you climb."
