The Exelon Foundation STEM Academy is now accepting applications!

With over 1,200 alumnae since 2018, the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy has welcomed young women to spend the week learning about energy and sustainability, meeting employees and executives who work in STEM, and developing their personal and professional leadership skills.

Since 2024, we have welcomed over 250 young men to join us to spend a week learning about energy and sustainability, meeting employees and executives who work in STEM, and developing their personal and professional leadership skills.

Calling All STEM Academy and Boys to STEM Academy Alumni!

Applications for the Exelon Foundation Chris Crane Memorial Scholarship are Now Open!

The Exelon Foundation Chris Crane Memorial Scholarship is a supportive and clear pathway from student engagement in the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy and Boys to STEM Academy to entry into the energy workforce, ideally as an Exelon employee.

This scholarship opportunity is available to Exelon Foundation STEM Academy and Boys to STEM Academy alumni. The scholarship provides support for tuition and room and board at a college, university, or technical school.

If you are eligible for the scholarship, you have received an email from Mary Spruill. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to her at mspruill@need.org.

Join us this Summer as Student Staff!

Applications to join us this upcoming summer as student staff have been sent out to all eligible alumni of the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy and Boys to STEM Academy. Join us this summer and connect with the newest 2026 STEM Academy and Boys to STEM Academy participants!

Applicants must have graduated from high school by spring 2026 and are in college or entering college beginning in the fall of 2026.

Nothing but Nuclear: Hands-on Science Session

6:00-7:30 pm CT/ 7:00-8:30 pm ET

Join us for a virtual, hands-on STEM deep dive into the world of nuclear energy! Explore how atoms split, how reactors work, and why nuclear power matters for our clean-energy future. Come discover one of the most powerful technologies shaping tomorrow’s energy landscape.

We’ll ship all the materials you need in advance of the event, so you can experiment and build along with our instructors in real time.

This free event is open to all high school students in Exelon service territories and alumni of the program.
