Another STEM Academy Summer has Wrapped!

Join us as we look back on all the fun we've had this past summer!

This year we had the privilege of hosting over 400 students across the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy and Exelon Foundation Boys to STEM Academy. Both programs gave students the tools to learn all about energy as they spent the week creating their very own microgrids and creating developments for real brownfields in their area.

Fifty young men and fifty young women joined us in each location, Baltimore, Chicago, DC (College Park, MD), and Philadelphia, for a week-long program. These young men and women spent the week learning about energy and hands-on learning in STEM.

That’s a wrap on the 2025 STEM Academies, and we’re proud to say we now have over 1,600 alumnae! Thank you to all of the young women who joined us this past summer for our 8th year of the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy

Exelon Foundation Boys to STEM Academy

We are extremely grateful for the success of our inaugural Exelon Foundation Boys to STEM Academy in 2024, and are thrilled to have expanded to 4 locations across the Exelon service territories in 2025, for our 2nd year of the Boys to STEM Academy.

“I really learned a lot and it was a great opportunity to practice networking & other skills I would need in the future. I came out of the Academy with more experience than I went in with.”

Students in both programs utilized the skills they learned, from circuitry to team building, to complete their week-long challenge. They had the opportunity to enhance their professional networking skills throughout the week, including a networking breakfast with Exelon employees.

While the STEM Academies for this summer may be over, the fun is not!

We encourage all of our alumni to stay engaged throughout the year. In-person and virtual STEM Days, our school year mentorship program with Exelon employees, the STEM Ambassador program, and more are all ways to stay involved!
